ENTER HIS GATES WITH THANKSGIVING

HIS COURTS WITH PRAISE

The name "Jehovah" is the redemptive name of Deity and means "The Self-Existent One Who Reveals Himself." The following names of Jehovah portray aspects of the redemption:

JEHOVAH-JIREH (The Lord Provides)
  •

God, by this Your love was manifested in me, that You sent Your only begotten Son into the world, so that I might live through Him. Gracious are You, Lord, and righteous; yes, You are compassionate. You have rescued my soul from death, my eyes from tears, and my feet from stumbling. O Lord, truly I am Your servant. I will offer to You a sacrifice of thanksgiving, and will call upon Your name.

    I John 4:9. Psalm 116:5, 8, 16, 17

  •

    JEHOVAH-ROPHE (The Lord Heals)
  •

Lord, surely You Yourself have borne my griefs and carried my sorrows. You were pierced through for my transgressions, crushed for my iniquities; the chastening for my well-being was upon You and by Your scourging I am healed. You Yourself bore my sins in Your body on the cross, that I might die to sin and live to righteousness.

    Isaiah 53:4, 5; I Peter 2:24

  •

    JEHOVAH-NISSI (The Lord Our Banner)
  •

Yours, O Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the victory and the majesty, indeed everything that is in the heavens and the earth. Yours is the dominion, O Lord, and You exalt Yourself as head over all. Both riches and honor come from You, and You rule over all, and in Your hand is power and might; and it lies in Your hand to make great and to strengthen everyone. Now, therefore, my God, I thank you, and praise Your glorious name. I Chronicles 29:11-13

  •

    JEHOVAH-ROHI (The Lord My Shepherd)
  •

O Lord, You know me and I hear Your voice and as one of your sheep, I follow You. You guide me in the paths of righteousness for Your name’s sake. I fear no evil; for You are with me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You have anointed my head with oil; my cup overflows. You have sent the Helper, the Holy Spirit, to teach me all things, and bring to my remembrance all You have said.

  • John 10:14, 3, 4: Psalm 23:3-5; John 14:26

  •

    JEHOVAH-SHALOM (The Lord My Peace)
  •

Your Name is Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. If You are for me, who is against me? You who spared not Your own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how will You not also with Him freely give me all things? Lord, You give strength to Your people; Lord, You bless Your people with peace.

  • Isaiah 9:6; Romans 8:31-35; Psalm 29:11

  •

    JEHOVAH-TSIDKENU (The Lord Our Righteousness)
  •

Righteous are You, O Lord. Your righteousness is an everlasting righteousness, and Your law is truth. Your right hand is full of righteousness. Lord God, You are righteous with respect to all your deeds which you have done. Your ways are right and the just shall walk in them. By Your doing, Jesus Christ became to me righteousness. Christ my Lord is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes. Psalm 119:137; 119:142; 48:10; Daniel 9:14; Hosea 14:9; I Corinthians 1:30; Romans 10:4

  •

    JEHOVAH-SHAMMAH (The Lord is Present)
  •

Heaven is Your throne, and the earth is Your footstool. There is no house that I can build for You, for Your hand made all these things. You have said You will dwell in me and You will walk with me in peace and uprightness and by my God and I will be one of Your people. Because You have said, "I will never desert you, nor will I ever forsake you," so that I confidently say, "The Lord is my Helper, I will not be afraid. What shall man do to me? Where can I flee from Your presence? If I ascend to heaven, You are there; if I make my bed in Sheol, behold, You are there."

  • Isaiah 66:1, 2; Hebrews 13:5, 6; Psalm 139:7, 8

  •

    JEHOVAH-M’KADDESH (The Lord Who Sanctifies)
  •

Holy, Holy, Holy, are You, Lord of Hosts. The whole earth is full of Your glory! You are the high and exalted One who lives forever. Your name is Holy! You are light and in You there is no darkness at all. Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord God Almighty, who was and is and who is to come. By Your doing, I am in Jesus Christ and He has become to me sanctification. Who will not fear, O Lord, and glorify Your name? For You alone are holy.

    Isaiah 6:3; 57:15; I John 1:5; Revelation 4:8; I Corinthians 1:30; Revelation 15:4
